we met up with lisa and darren a while back to shoot some last minute maternity photos. lisa was soon due at any moment!
my bad for not posting these photos sooner, plus you’ll also soon be able to see the newborn session we shot soon after! =)

lisa and darren are such awesome people to work with and more importantly, they’re amazing friends. lisa & darren have a beautiful piece of property well outside the city, we recently got together for a bbq and fire cooked meal at their place. after that we all sat in the back of darren’s truck watching the perseid meteor show which was so much fun! there was a lot of shouting and screaming and pointing and disbelief, it was such a good night =)

you may notice the site looks a little bit cleaner. simpler, easier. i spent some time fine-tuning the blog to totally suit my personal style, which was much overdue. i’ve designed a lot of albums over the years and i always love a clean, fresh, classy design. it never dates, and this will really flow with my business brand as well as my own albums i offer =) that’s pretty much what sparked this new look my blog is sporting. to celebrate the re-launch of my site, this massive post consists of about 80 of my favourites from steffy k’s grad photo shoot! steff was a total freakin’ blast to work with, i can’t wait to do it again soon and to design her custom album.

ryan’s youngest sister stephanie graduated high school this year and she asked me months ago if i would like to do her makeup for her graduation day. in case you don’t already know, i’m also an esthetician! i graduated from giselle’s school of aesthetics a few years ago. (i’m the one with the fiery red hair in the photos) i’m totally going to toot my own horn here and add the fact that not only did i graduate with honours, but i received final marks placing me in the top 3 of the class. during the course, i won first place in the makeup competition as well as first place in the nail art competition. to this day i am obviously still very proud of all this. =)
after working in a spa for a while i decided to focus on photography, and shortly thereafter decided to open my own business. despite this, i still continue to love and miss aesthetics. i still do pedicures for my mom and her friends! while i was still attending giselle’s, i lived with ryan’s family for a few months while my family was in the midst of a move. ryan’s two younger sisters took an interest in my makeup in particular, and we also had some fun eyebrow waxes in the bathroom as well… ha ha, good times!
before the day of her grad, i asked steffy to come by my place for a trial makeup run. we’d also been collaborating on some fun photo sessions, so i suggested she bring along her grad dress too so we could do a fun shoot while she was all fancied up! the shoot honestly knocked my socks off and i was raving about it for days afterwards. she’s already met up with panache management since then, and i’m willing to bet she will do so well if she decides to go forth with it!
we’ll be out of town at a wedding until sometime next week, so for now please enjoy this super fun video slideshow of some of my favorites from the shoot. more to come later in a full photo post!

a few years back, larissa’s family used to own a seasonal campsite across from ours out at lilac resort. it’s been a while since they’ve left, and our families don’t see each other quite as often anymore. aside from fun events and birthdays, of course.
larissa’s long, curly, gorgeous blond locks are her trademark feature and holy smokes does she ever wear it well! any time i’ve seen Larissa in the years since they left the park, it’s continually apparent that she’s grown up to be a such beautiful young woman… who’s much taller than me now! her grad dress was so gorgeous and it fits her like a glove. it was so sweet to see how interested her family was watching her getting ready for the big moment.
larissa, i had a blast doing your makeup and being a part of your special day! it was heartwarming to see you become so excited as the time went by, and when you walked out in your dress the silence of your family said it all. thank you for the great experience! i admit i was pretty nervous, considering we didn’t do a trial run and this was also a first for me. i had no idea if you’d like your makeup, but then again you didn’t really have much of a choice but to like it, considering the short amount of time we had hey? ha, ha, i am so glad you loved it though!! congratulations, you are finally finished high school… forever =)
after finishing her makeup, we all ran outside for what was the fastest & shortest photo shoot i have ever had in my life! check out a few of my favourite images.
